Linda Greub

Co-Founder & Managing Partner

A fifth-generation Bay Area native, Linda grew up surrounded by innovation. Curious about East Coast traditionalism, she headed off to Yale where she fell in love with the history of art. Linda’s mother quickly steered her back towards practicality, onto Wall Street and into Harvard Business School. Linda found investing in companies to be the next best thing to hanging out in art galleries and she moved into equity investment management, working at private hedge funds including Essex Investment Management and Tudor Investment Corporation, and earning her Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. Increasingly focused on the life sciences, Linda returned to the Bay Area and worked as a healthcare research analyst for Banc of America Securities.

The lure of sequencing the human genome took Linda from financial services to the life science industry, starting at Applied Biosystems where she started an M&A group and eventually worked on the sale of the company to Life Technologies. Linda has since worked in corporate development and finance roles at both global and venture-backed life science companies, including VitaPath Genetics, Novartis Diagnostics, Singulex and Raindance (sold to Bio-Rad).

When not working at Avestria, Linda serves on Springboard Enterprises’ Women’s Health Executive Committee, runs in the hills, bakes “damn good” cheesecake and watches her sons Sutter and Merritt thwart her attempts at parenting.
